Kolkata, 2009. Lenin Sarani: a crowded bazaar of small tool factories entirely equipped with manufacturing machinery from the early days of the industrial revolution. Some of these "machine tools," all of which are still in use today, are over a century old and were brought to Calcutta when the city was the capital of British India.
